A place to grow.
Batang Pinangga’s children’s home offers a safe, caring environment for children who need protection and support. Daily care and personal guidance provide a foundation from which children can learn and develop.
Batang Pinangga Ventures brings a commercial approach to a human purpose: helping businesses grow so that more young people can have the opportunity to thrive.
I’m Geertjan. I bring 20 years of experience building and scaling businesses, with expertise in sales, marketing, technology and operations, and a broad network in Cebu. Technology is one of the tools I bring; our investment focus is profitable Cebu MSMEs across sectors.
Alongside my business career, I have spent 20 years volunteering in the Philippines. I know how much time and money it takes to keep a children’s home running and help students continue their education. BP Ventures brings that personal commitment together with a business mindset.
I want to understand your business before proposing changes. We agree on the opportunity, the support needed and how to measure progress. Then we work on the practical things that move the business forward.
The model is straightforward: BP Ventures invests in businesses in return for equity. I intend to use my share of BP Ventures’ dividends and proceeds to help fund Batang Pinangga’s children’s home and scholarships. The ambition is to build a system in which commercial success helps sustain the social enterprise over time.
Specific responsibilities, involvement and investment terms are agreed together for each partnership.
Our model combines equity investment with active business-building support. We consider profitable Cebu MSMEs across sectors; businesses do not need to be technology companies. The focus is practical: stronger sales, effective marketing, useful technology, efficient operations and resilient margins.
We aim to partner with profitable Cebu businesses whose next stage of growth can create lasting value. Shared success begins with a business that performs.
BP Ventures invests for equity. Geertjan intends to use his share of BP Ventures’ dividends and proceeds to help fund the children’s home and scholarships for Cebuano students through Batang Pinangga Foundation. The goal is to create a lasting source of support through successful commercial activity.
We also aim to help partner businesses become places where disadvantaged young people can learn and work: through internships, practical training and employment, developed with suitable partners as capacity grows.
Batang Pinangga supports children and young people in the Philippines with care, education and the opportunity to build an independent future.
Batang Pinangga’s children’s home offers a safe, caring environment for children who need protection and support. Daily care and personal guidance provide a foundation from which children can learn and develop.
Scholarships help children and students access education and continue their studies. Support with education is part of a longer journey towards skills, confidence and greater independence.
Education can open the door to a profession and meaningful work. BP Ventures aims to complement that journey through opportunities for practical training, internships and employment with suitable partner businesses.
Keeping a children’s home running and funding scholarships requires ongoing time, effort and financial support. After 20 years of volunteering in the Philippines, Geertjan wants to contribute through a skill he has developed over the same period: building and scaling businesses.
BP Ventures is a commercial investment company. It invests in businesses in return for equity and works with entrepreneurs to strengthen their performance. Geertjan intends to use his share of BP Ventures’ dividends and proceeds to help fund Batang Pinangga’s children’s home and scholarships.
The ambition is a sustainable system in which successful commercial activity helps provide continuity for care and education. Funding depends on the returns generated; partner businesses and entrepreneurs have no obligation to donate.
These are intended outcomes, not claims of existing investment returns, portfolio success or delivered impact. No fixed share of profits or number of scholarships is promised. Financial performance and available resources will determine what becomes possible.
There is no obligation for participating businesses to donate to Batang Pinangga. Any internships, training or employment opportunities would be explored separately and by mutual agreement.
We intend to share meaningful progress as the model develops, with clear distinctions between capital invested, financial returns and social outcomes.
